Welcome to the story of Ashley's birth. I plan to use this blog to update everyone on how things are progressing with Ashley's arrival! This is assuming of course that the L&D wing at the hospital has internet access...I think it does, but if you don't see any more posts...assume it doesn't!! I'll post as long as I can, then I'll be turning the responsibility over to Mike to finish!
So where are we now? At my last OB appt on Monday, I was fully effaced and "a good 3 cm" dilated. After a quick discussion, we decided to go ahead and induce labor on Friday. So, tomorrow evening we will be checking into Monmouth Medical Center to prepare to begin "encouraging" her to make an appearance! I have to call the hospital tomorrow evening to find out what time to check in...so sometime after 5:00 I'll know whats going on. I'll definitely post an update once I make the phone call.
Since this is our first, I really have no idea what to expect. From what I understand, shortly after arriving they will give me Cervidil which is supposed to help soften my cervix, and may help to start my labor. If I do not go into labor on my own by Friday morning Dr. G will break my water and start me on Pitocin which causes contractions, putting me into labor!
So hopefully, if everything goes well, our little Miss Ashley will be here sometime Friday!

Just a quickie to wish you well and thanks for taking the time to keep us posted. Can't wait to hear about the tub...I so wanted to do that myself! Well, Ashley could be having her 1st bath right now (Fri am)so I'll just stay tuned. All the best!!!
